Welcome to the Official Website of the Gibbs Senior High School Class of 1984

In the process of planning and executing our 35-year reunion, we discovered that many of us on the committee had a desire to create a more permanent connection and lasting contribution to our school. Our first chosen project is the establishment and funding of an annual scholarship to a deserving graduating senior from our Alma Mater.

​Gibbs High School was built on Respect, Excellence and Pride. The Alumni Organization of Gibbs Class of 1984 exists to help its members connect with each other; to engage with the school and the community, and to inspire future generations of Gladiators by way of mentoring, advising and tutoring.

The GHS Class of ’84 scholarship is intended to assist a student who does not qualify for other financial aid but is college-bound. Our vision is that this will help with all the “extras”…supplies, dorm room setup and other needed items that are traditionally not covered by scholarships. We chose to do this in the same way Clemson University runs their Alumni giving…”IPTAY”…I Pay Thirty A Year.

Our request is that you make a minimum pledge of $30 per year to this fund. The annual Pledge Drive will run July through October every year, with reminders going out annually, and collections completed by late January. We hope to make our annual award of $1000 to a deserving GHS senior on or around April 30.

This goal is reasonable and achievable and will help all of us to pay it forward! WE ONLY NEED 34 PEOPLE EACH YEAR to make this minimum contribution in order to reach this goal. Please make your pledge in any amount now, with our requested minimum being $30. Note that we will likely not process these payments online so we don’t incur fees which deplete the fund.
